Coinbase Inc. is a developer of Coinbase Wallet, a cryptocurrency wallet that grants complete control over the crypto tokens. Its users can now transfer crypto payments via links through email, text, or any popular messaging apps.

The new service aims to simplify cryptocurrency transactions for customers without requiring complex technical knowledge. Simultaneously, the system streamlines sending money overseas to friends and family, which formerly required up to five working days and expensive bank fees. Transactions occur nearly instantly and at a significantly reduced cost using Coinbase’s service.

While announcing the service, the company wrote, “Sending money is now as easy as sending a text, direct message, or email — wherever you already connect with friends and family.” Sending cryptocurrency has been available in over 170 countries and 20 diverse languages.

The link can be shared using any social messaging service, including Telegram, iMessage, and WhatsApp, once it has been produced in Wallet. To establish a new wallet, receivers who click the link will either be redirected to the Wallet app or instructed to download it on iOS or Android.

The sent amount will automatically be refunded to the sender after two weeks if they are not claimed.

With the help of the service, customers can send and receive money in USD Coin, a stablecoin that is directly correlated with the US dollar. Because of this, each token has a constant value of USD 1 when it is bought or sold, making it appropriate for both domestic and international transfers. Users can send USDC without paying any fees, according to Coinbase.

Along with the new service, Coinbase also unveiled “simple mode” for Wallet, a simplified interface designed for novices and new customers. Only necessary features like purchasing, transmitting, receiving, and storing digital assets will be visible to users. The aim is to eliminate the intricate and perplexing elements of utilizing cryptocurrencies, enabling less experienced users to utilize the application at their own pace.
